Haffkine, Waldemar

(1860-1930)
   Russian bacteri-ologist. Born in Odessa, he studied at the University of Novorossik, worked at the Zoological Museum of Odessa and later moved to Switzerland where he worked at the Pasteur Institute in Geneva. He subsequently tested cholera inoculation in India.
